Birthday Week Giveaway: Day Four…
Today marks the fourth giveaway in the Birthday Week series,Shamballa Jewelry! Up for grabs are a selection of ceramic buttons and beads from Lisa Peters Art . One lucky winner will score this small treasure trove of ceramic goodies courtesy of Lisa! I love the earthy feeling of Lisa’s work. She’s got a knack for capturing the organic feel of stoneware clay and creating some really interesting pieces. For instance those big buttons could easily end up being clasps in a chunky bracelet or incorporated into “conversation” rings with wire or a rivet post. I’ve seen some really awesome, edgy Steampunk-esque leather cuffs using Lisa’s ceramic buttons and cabochons. I fell in love with her skull beads when I was set up next to her at a show in New York. (You can see an example of what I did with one HERE and see the ones available in my shop HERE .) Admittedly, it wasn’t the most bustling of shows, so we had plenty of time to get to know each other and keep entertained. All weekend, she’d crack me up.

Pamela Love’s Spring Jewelry Collection Slays Us
Pamela Love’s Spring Jewelry Collection Slays Us By: Michelle Christina Larsen | Photos by: Ryan Koopmans In a momentary flashback to the nomads and tribal warriors of spring 2010 , Pamela Love reminds us how powerful an impression some war paint, wind-mangled manes, and epic metal accessories can be. The New York-based jewelry designer has won over a slew of fans with her spring 2011 line, inspired by Indian and African tribes, from tiered rows of skull-beads and spiked cuff bracelets to delicate geometrics suspended from thin gold chains. Her killer star-point bracelets may have been designed for looks, but we bet nomadic and urban chics alike could wield them as a weapon of self defense! The looks were made complete by Sebastian hairstylist Thomas Dunkin’s masterful unraveling of the models’ locks into wild, sexy, primal-glam ‘dos. The overall effect is a refreshing departure from modern minimalism and the gadget-fueled sleekness of the modern age.

Embrace your creativity
This jewelry set was given to me by a friend, who’s turned me onto an incredible store called :SEY. The star and skull jewelry fits perfectly with the holed leggings and the drive in top. The slick rope like necklace and bangle is accented with lovely metal stars, beads and skulls. The detailing on this set is ridiculously incredible. And with such a close up picture, you are able to see one of my favourite piercings from Haus of Darcy (.HoD.). Like all of .HoD. piercings, they are extremely high quality work, unique individual designs and unisex. You want piercings with just enough metal to them.head on out to .HoD. and check out their awesome jewelry!
